The Mahindra Thar 5-door is set to receive styling tweaks and additional features, making it different from the existing Thar 3-door model. Here are some of the key changes and updates to expect:

 

Mahindra Thar 5 Door

  1. Styling Changes:

    • The Thar 5-door will feature a different front grille with a unique slat design and a horizontal separator in the lower half of the grille, setting it apart from the 3-door version.
    • The headlamps on the test mule appear to be equipped with LED projector units and daytime running lamps, providing improved lighting.
    • LED fog lamps are also expected, enhancing the vehicle's lighting system.

  2. Tail-lamp Design:

    • The rear of the Thar 5-door will feature different LED graphics in the tail lamps compared to the Thar 3-door, although the overall shape remains similar.

  3. Infotainment and Dashcam:

    • The 5-door Thar is expected to come with a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, offering a more advanced and user-friendly interface.
    • There is a dashcam positioned behind the infotainment screen, which is a unique feature. It remains to be seen if this feature will make it to the production model.

  4. Additional Features and Comforts:

    • The Thar 5-door is likely to have a longer list of features and more creature comforts compared to the 3-door version.
    • Some variants are expected to offer a sunroof and front and rear centre armrests for added convenience.

  6. Engine Options:

    • The Thar 5-door is expected to be available with both petrol and diesel engine options, providing customers with a choice of powertrains.

The Thar 5-door is anticipated to go on sale early next year, giving customers a more spacious and feature-rich alternative to the 3-door model. Additionally, Mahindra is preparing a major update for the XUV300 compact SUV, which is scheduled for a 2024 launch.
